Description

The SP-180 HF SRE Hybrid from Sky Power is a hybrid propulsion unit based on Wankel engine technology that can be used with both as a combustion engine and an electric power generation system. The engine is designed to burn heavy fuel oil. This innovative solution uses a Wankel engine with a displacement of 180 cm3 and is supplemented by a starter-generator that enables seamless integration of the two energy systems. The engine offers four operating modes: purely electric, purely combustion, boost mode (combustion and electric at the same time) and charging mode, in which the engine works as a generator to charge the battery.

With a maximum power output of 29.9 hp (22 kW) at 6000 rpm and a torque of 36.8 Nm at 5500 rpm, the SP-180 HF SRE Hybrid offers a wide speed range from 1500 to 10,000 rpm. This flexibility makes it particularly suitable for various UAV applications, since it can be adapted to different requirements in terms of energy consumption and performance.

Sky Power’s SP-180 HF SRE Hybrid features an efficient cooling system. The engine housing is cooled by means of water cooling. Another oil cooling system supplies the rotor. This is particularly important to ensure consistent performance.
